Easter Weekend

Easter Monday was spent in the vegie garden- planting soft fruit, asparagus and more vegies (beetroot etc) (helped along with a cold glass of vinho verde!).

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday- a beautiful sunny morning, clear blue skies and quite frosty - hope the piggies weren't too chilly!
Off to our neighbours for sunday roast today!

greetings from terminal 5!

hangi a success yesterday- a few 'hangi-overs' this morning!

The sun is shining, but the wind is quite cold. We have lots of spring bulbs up- mainly tiny narcissus and all the new fruit trees are blossoming. There is lots of interest in the birds boxes, and finally some interest in the nut feeders Paul put up in the pines outside the cabin. We have now a visiting blackbird and grey wagtail, robins, crested, great and coal tits, and nuthatches- pretty good considering the Portugeuse shoot alot of the birdlife here!
An unwelcome site though is the lines of hairy caterpillars- with their toxic hairs you need to keep clear of them. We have lost a chicken this week, and both Pip and Clover have got a bit too close and suffered with allergies- as for us we are scratching just thinking about it!!

A quiet week on the build as no builders here (oh well, at least we don't have to pay for anything this week!).
We are just enjoying walking up and down the stairs!!
Warm and sunny here and everythings growing (especially the weeds!).
(By the way- we're not getting many comments on this blog, please feel free to leave one!!)

the big yellow fridge

The house has been insulated and now looks like a giant yellow fridge- our neighbours are still calling it 'bonita'
- think they think that's the finished colour!!

Paul is pottering in the 'veggie garden' planting beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, etc etc, and I am pottering in the kitchen making a meringue for a birthday party this afternoon!
