We have just noticed that there's no photos of the cabin on here, and while quite a few of our friends and family have already been here and know what it's like, we thought it would be nice if others could picture where we are living at the moment!!

so here it is...
remind me why we're bulding the big house again?! (oh yeah its so we can have loads of parties and EVERYONE can come out and stay- so you'd better...)

just in case you're wondering that's a chainsaw on Glorias head!!

The thunderbirds house is flying up- they have nearly built the top roof and we can get a really good idea of the space (loads!!).

Have had a nice weekend- Paul has been helping our neighbours handle their new tractor, and in return, they helped us bring a load of logs up. We have also been doing a bit more clearing on the land, and Clover (also known as 'the grunt'!) is fitting in well and getting on great with Pip.

Clover

Oh my goodness- really don't know what we're doing anymore! We have a new puppy- its gotta be checked out by the vet tonight as it's very young but it needed a home and we were mug enough to say yes!! She's a little heinz57 and we've called her 'Clover'. Pip is getting on well with her but desperately wants to play and isn't sure about sharing a bed!

last day here for Mike , George and Josh- a quick glass of port in Porto (of course!!).

Well life goes on and we have to concentrate on the good things- here are the photos of the climbing here with the kids ( and George and Josh!) (thunderbirds house in the background!).

All the spring bulbs are coming up and we are trying to focus on all the good stuff that goes on here every day. Looking out of the cabin window in the mornings we can see a big improvement with the variety of birdlife here since putting up boxes and feeders- great tits, crested tits, grey wagtails, woodpecker, robins, and yesterday two Ravens soaring over our heads.

A sad day at Velagota today. At about 3.30 this afternoon we had Maggie put to sleep after a very short illness. We could not have asked for a more perfect companion, friend, clown and of course dog!

On Mike, Georges and Joshs 3rd day in Portugal we went to a market and ate frango ( barbeque chiken) chips, salad and yet again another jug of red wine. After making our 2nd attempt to get up with our the massive lunch weighing us down we finally were able to stand and make our way up to the mountains to visit Piodao, an old slate village. It was stunning. To finish off the day we made our way home, grabbed a dvd and chilled for the rest of the night with a couple glasses of port.
